The Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Tuesday said it would not allow the Bangladesh Nationalist Party to hold any rally on December 10 on any thoroughfare of the city but it will have no objection if the party holds a rally at ijtema ground at Tongi or trade fair ground at Purbachal.
DMP’s deputy commission for media and public relations Md Faruk Hossain said that the BNP has been permitted to hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan but some leaders of the party proposed Arambagh as an alternative venue.
“We are yet to think of any alternative venue,” Faruk Hossain told journalists at his office.
“Since permission has been given to hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan, the DMP remained strict to that location till now. No rally will be allowed on the street,” he said.
