The University Grants Commission has asked the authorities of all universities to ensure fi nancial discipline for the sake of the country’s sustainable development.
UGC member Prof Dr Md Abu Taher came up with the call at a virtual work-shop arranged as a part of National In-tegrity Strategy Action Plan on Thursday.
He said transparency, accountability and good governance must be ensured in higher educational institutions to get place among developed countries by 2041Without ensuring good governance, the higher educational institutions will fail to play their desired role in develop-ing skilled human resources and facing the challenges of the global labour mar-ket, he said.
He urged every university to prepare annual procurement plan and upload it on the website as part of integrity strat-egy action plan.
