Rohingya camp leader shot dead in Ukhiya

A 40-year-old Rohingya man was shot dead allegedly by miscreants at Balukhali camp in Ukhia of Cox's Bazar on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Hossain, son of Mohammad Shafique and leader (majhi) of the camp.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Faruque Ahmed, assistant director (media) of Armed Police Battalion-8, said a group of miscreants appeared at the camp around 10:30am and opened fire on Hossain, leaving him critically injured.

He was taken to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
