BSF kills two more Bangladeshis

Two Bangladeshi nationals were shot dead allegedly by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Dolpara border in Hatibandha of Lalmonirhat early Thursday, a Bangladeshi official said.

The deceased were identified as Monglu, 36, son of Abdus Samad and Sadik, 22, son of Hafizul Islam of Dolpara in Hatibandha.

Abdul Jalil, commanding officer of Dolpara BGB camp, said the BSF members opened fire on some Bangladeshi nationals, including Monglu and Sadik, who went to the border area to bring cattle.

They died at the scene, he said.

A protest letter was sent to BSF after the incident, he said.

Barakhata union parishad Hafizul Islam told reporters said a patrol team of BSF opened fire around 12:30am when 18 to 20 Bangladeshi people crossed the border to bring cattle from India. The two succumbed to their injuries and their bodies were taken to their homes, he said.
