Two youth, who have allegedly been radicalised by the ideology of Al-Qaeda and were planning to stage armed jihad in the country, have given confessional statements before a court on Sunday.
Nadim Sheikh, 19, and Said Uddin, 18, were produced before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nurul Huda Chowdhury, after the end of their five-day remand in the case. Police pleaded to record their statements under section 164. Allowing the plea, the court later recorded their confessional statements.
The same court however, sent other four accused Abdur Rab, Md Sakib, Shameem Hossain, and Md Absar, to jail.
