The High Court on Wednesday pronounced judgment in a case in Bangla in respect of people who embraced supreme sacrifice in the 1952 language movement.
A High Court division bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Md Khairul Alam pronounced the judgment in Bangla in the case ‘Md Akkas Ali vs Bangladesh and others’.
“Today is February 1, first day of the month of language. We are going to pronounce the judgment in Bangla in respect of the language martyrs and marking International Mother Language Day. We are going to pronounce this judgment in respect of all the Bangla speaking people of the world,” Justice Naima Haider said before pronouncing the judgment in the case regarding vested property.
The case was 12th matter on the cause list of the bench. Advocate Md Shariful Islam appeared for the writ filed in this regard, while Deputy Attorney General Amit Das Gupta stood for the state.
