11 RAB officials interrogated in Rajshahi

The Rapid Action Battalion has interrogated 11 officials of RAB 5 in Rajshahi over their involvement in the arrest and interrogation of Sultana Jasmine in Naogaon.

The officials, including a major and an assistant superintendent of police, were attached to the battalion headquarters in Rajshahi.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB’s legal and media wing, told media on Thursday that a team from the internal investigation cell of RAB Headquarters is now in Rajshahi to investigate Sultana’s death, he said.

“The cell is interrogating the officials involved with the incident. They might talk to the officials again and discuss,” he added.

Sultana, a union-level land employee in Naogaon, died in RAB custody at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on March 24. She was detained on March 22.
