The High Court on Tuesday issued a ruling asking the government to explain why the anti-corruption statements of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will not be included in the syllabus of all educational institutions including schools, colleges, universities and training institutes.
The HC bench consisting of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukdar and Justice Mohammad Shawkat Ali Chowdhury issued the suo-moto rule while hearing a case regarding the disappearance of RAJUK documents.
The cabinet secretary, the education secretary, the chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB), and the director general of the Archives and Library Department have been asked to respond to the ruling.
The HC also directed the Education Ministry and the director general of the Department of Archives and Library to provide the necessary audio video, if any, in the form of an affidavit before the court within a month.
The court also fixed June 4 for the next hearing in this regard.
The High Court also asked the ACC chairman to ensure that the investigation officers of graft cases carry out investigations considering the anti-corruption speeches of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as ideology while performing their duties.
Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik and ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan were present before the court at that time.
