The passing out parade for the induction of the A-23 batch of New Entry Sailors of the Bangladesh Navy was held at the parade ground of BNS Titumir in Khalishpur of Khulna on Wednesday.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Addressing the ceremony, Admiral Shaheen Iqbal congratulated the 773 entry sailors of the A-2023 batch and encouraged them to display exceptional performance in service, contributing to national security and prosperity in the future.
He emphasised that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Bangladesh Navy has transformed into a dynamic force. He urged the newly inducted sailors to make themselves worthy sailors by applying the knowledge and education they have acquired from the sailors’ school in their professional lives.
Reflecting on the spirit and sacrifice of the freedom fighters, the Navy chief called upon all Navy personnel to remain determined and resolute in defending the independence and sovereignty of the country at all costs.
During the event, Admiral Shaheen Iqbal inspected the smartly turned-out parade and took the salute during the march past. He also presented the “Noubahini Pradhan Padak” (Navy Chief’s Medal), “Kadamphul Padak” (Commander’s Medal), and “Titumir Padak” (Titumir Medal) to the top three entry sailors who demonstrated outstanding performance.
The spectacular parade was attended by local civil and military officials, who maintained social distance and followed health guidelines.
