The Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday approved a charge sheet against Swapan Kumar Mistry, one of the aides of PK Halder, on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 4.19 crore.
The anti-graft body approved the charge sheet at a meeting held at the commission’s headquarters in Dhaka, said ACC Deputy Director M Arif Sadiq.
Following the approval, the investigation officer and ACC deputy director Nazmul Husain will submit the charge sheet before the court in the case, he also said
In February 2021, the ACC filed a case against Swapan Kumar Mistry on charges of amassing illegal wealth and non-submission of wealth statements.
According to the charge sheet, the ACC during the investigation found that Rahman Chemical Limited’s director Swapan Kumar Mistry owned 200.53 decimals of land worth Tk 3.68 crore at Rupganj in Naraynganj. Apart from this, ACC also found Swapan Kumar’s immovable wealth worth Tk 50.97 lakh including cash money, and shares of the South Bengal Association.
