Drug dealer along with 7.5kg heroin held in Rajshahi

Police arrested an alleged top-listed drug dealer with 7.5 kilograms of heroin in Rajshahi early Monday.

The arrestee has been identified as Ziarul Islam, 35, son of late Abdul Latif of Kosaipara in Godagari.

On a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid in his house and recovered 7.5 kilograms of heroin, 18 bottles of phensedyl, Tk 24.5 lakh in cash and gold ornaments weighing 258 grams.

Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain said the drugs and other valuables were stockpiled in a steel made volt at his home.

Quoting his confessional statement, the police officer said Ziarul was involved in trafficking and trading various types of drugs for long.
