An aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying 74 passengers safely landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after hovering over Dhaka for half an hour as it had to face a technical glitch.
Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Group Captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam said, “The aircraft faced a problem in hydraulic system but the passengers were out of danger.”
The hydraulic system in aircraft is used to move and actuate landing gear, flaps and brakes. Larger aircrafts rely heavily on the system for flight controls, spoilers and thrust reversers.
The aircraft ‘Dash 8 Q400’ took off from Barishal and faced technical trouble while it was flying and the pilot of the flight sought emergency
landing. Later the flight safely landed in Dhaka.
“The aircraft navigation was disrupted for a while but the navigation was not officially closed rather the scheduled flight took off late,” Kamrul Islam added.
