Covid-19: 12 deaths, 2,285 new cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh on Monday recorded twelve Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the tally to 29,174.

The country also registered 2,285 fresh cases of Covid-19 over the same period, while the daily infection rate stood at 16.51 per cent.

On Sunday, the positivity rate was 15.53 per cent.

With the fresh infections, the total caseload reached 19,80, 974, according to the daily virus update by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Meanwhile, 482 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, pushing the overall recovery to 19,08,779.

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 13,842 samples at 880 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8, 2020, and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 of the same year.
