Bangladesh on Monday registered 207 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while the daily infection rate slightly rose to 4.65 per cent.

The health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 4,454 samples at 882 laboratories across the country.

On Sunday, the test positivity rate was 4.44 per cent.

With the fresh infections, the total caseload reached 20,34,348, according to the daily virus update by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The country also recorded two more Covid-related deaths in a 24-hour span, taking the tally to 29,415.

Meanwhile, 390 patients recovered from the infection over the last 24 hours, pushing the overall recovery to 19,78,306.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8, 2020, and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 of the same year.
