Covid: Daily infection rate falls to 0.64%

Bangladesh on Monday registered 19 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while the daily infection rate dropped to 0.64 per cent.

The health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 2,981 samples at 881 laboratories across the country

On Sunday, the test positivity rate was 1.82 per cent.

With the fresh infections, the total caseload reached 20,36,825, according to the daily virus update by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The country recorded one Covid-related death in the 24-hour span, raising the tally to 29,437.

Meanwhile, 36 patients recovered from the infection over the last 24 hours, pushing the overall recovery to 19,86,486.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8, 2020, and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 of the same year.
