Bangladesh on Sunday recorded another 13,501 new cases of Covid-19, with the country's daily test positivity rate rose to 29.77 per cent.
During this time, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) recorded 31 more coronavirus related deaths as the total death toll reached 28,394 and positive cases 17,98,833 since the country first detected Covid patient on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.
On Sunday, the positivity rate hit 28.33 per cent.
The daily case positivity rate reached its peak of 33.37 per cent on January 28 this year.
Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 45,358 samples at 865 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 1,24,78,682 samples.
Meanwhile, 2,568 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,68,213.
The test positivity rate has been witnessing an upward trend since the start of the new year, rising from 2.43 per cent on January 1.
