Covid: Four more die in 24hrs

Bangladesh recorded four new Covid-related deaths and 350 cases in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.

With the fresh casualties, the overall death toll rose to 29,351.

Earlier on Tuesday, the country in a 24-hour span recorded five Covid-related deaths, the highest since July 27.

Meanwhile, the daily infection rate declined to 13.12 per cent as the health authorities tested 2,668 samples at 881 laboratories across the country.

On Friday, the test positivity rate was 15.38 per cent.

With the fresh infections, the total caseload reached 20,21,118, according to the daily virus update by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Besides, 350 patients recovered from the infection over the last 24 hours, pushing the overall recovery to 19,62,514.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8, 2020, and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 of the same year.
