Bangladesh recorded 8,407 Covid-19 positive cases as positivity rate was 23.98 per cent among the tested samples in a span of 24-hours till 8:00am on Tuesday.
During the time the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) recorded 10 more coronavirus related deaths as total death toll reached 28,164 and positive cases 16,32,794 since the country first detected Covid patient on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.
Of the 10 deceased, eight were male and two female and they were aged between 51-90 years old, added the DGHS release on Tuesday.
Seven of the deaths were reported in Dhaka division while one death was reported from each of Chattogram, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions.
Testing 35, 054 samples in 855 laboratories DGHS recorded the daily positive cases of infection which is the highest in last five months.
On Monday positivity rate was 20.88 per cent which was 2.43 on January 1.
Meanwhile, 475 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,53,795.
