Eight more dengue patients died in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning, raising this year’s death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 83.
Another 765 patients were hospitalised with Dengue in 24 hours till Thursday morning.
Of the new patients, 497 were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka and 268 outside it, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 2,695 dengue patients, including 1,915 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
This year, the directorate has recorded 23,282 dengue cases and 20,504 recoveries so far.
