The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has expressed keen interest in enhancing the healthcare sector at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

KOICA Deputy Country Director Hyun Suh Kang, Program Manager Gunju Lee and Program Officer Nur Chowdhury visited DMCH and met with the hospital’s Director Brig Gen Md Asaduzzaman and other officials on Sunday, according to a press release issued by KOICA.

During the visit meeting, DMCH officials presented various avenues where KOICA’s support could significantly benefit the hospital.

In response, KOICA has shown particular interest in dispatching a World Friends Korea (WFK) Advisor and Volunteer to DMCH. All expenses for these Korean advisors and volunteers will be fully borne by the Korean government through KOICA.

In addition to providing on-ground support through WFK, KOICA may provide capacity development training facilities to further bolster the skills and capabilities of DMCH staff.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the relationship between KOICA and DMCH, with a shared goal of improving healthcare services in Bangladesh.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), established in 1991 by the Government of the Republic of Korea, enhances the effectiveness of Korea's grant aid programs for developing countries.

KOICA is dedicated to supporting sustainable development through technical cooperation, capacity building, and humanitarian assistance. The World Friends Korea (WFK) Advisor and Volunteer program, a key initiative of KOICA, dispatches volunteers to partner countries to share expertise and skills in various sectors, including education, health, and community development, fostering mutual understanding and contributing to the development of Bangladesh.
