Nearly 64 per cent students of the 12-18 age group received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, said Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury Nowfel on Monday.

The deputy minister made the remark while speaking in parliament as he was taking part in the thanksgiving motion on the president's speech.

He mentioned that the number of the students in the country is about 1,16,23,322.

“And of them, 77.18 lakh received the first dose of the vaccine as of Sunday.” 

He also said that vaccination of all the teachers at the university level is almost 100 per cent completed.

It has been possible to vaccinate 90 per cent of the students in public universities who are living in dormitories, he added.
