The operation theatre (OT) of Central Hospital has been rendered out of order on account of the emergency services being substandard.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) inspectors upheld this decision of shutting down the OT as a result of a complaint on Friday from a patient named Mahbuba Rahman Akhi.
DGHS Director of Hospitals and clinic relations Dr Mohammad Daud Adnan and DGHS Deputy Director of Hospitals and clinic relations Dr Moynul Hasan have confirmed the aforementioned developments after they checked the patient back at the hospital.
The services are not to be reinstated without written authorization from DGHS. Besides, the hospital authority has been obligated to compensate the family of Mahbuba Rahman Akhi bearing the entire medical expense.
The authority is also obligated to mete out all expenses of legal representation for the accused physicians namely Dr Shahizadi and Dr Muna who stand trial.
