52 Bangladeshis die from coronavirus in Saudi Arabia

A total of 152 people died from Covid-19 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Of the deceased, 52 were Bangladeshi expatriates, Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate General of Bangladesh in Jeddah confirmed this on Wednesday.

Out of 52 deceased, 46 have been identified. Identities of the remaining six will be determined later, according to Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh. Most of them hailed from Chattogram and breathed their last in the city of Medina.

Confirmed coronavirus cases are rising as more tests are being conducted in the Kingdom, said Saudi health ministry.

Saudi Arabia has a total of 20,077 confirmed cases and 2,784 people have recovered until Wednesday, said the ministry.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh and Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah conveyed the updated register of the deceased to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment back home.
