Elsevier, a Netherlands-based research publishing and information analytics company, launched the English version of a Chinese book on Covid-19 prevention and treatment on Monday.
Elsevier, which owns the world-leading medical journal The Lancet, published the English version of "Covid-19: The essentials of Prevention and Treatment" with Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press, reports Xinhua.
The book, with Zhong Nanshan, a renowned Chinese respiratory disease expert as one of the reviewers, aims to share with the world China's medical experience in fighting the epidemic.
The Chinese version, with renowned medical experts from Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen as its editors, was published by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press in April.
The book's editors and authors are all medical experts who once worked on the frontline against the Covid-19 epidemic. The book attracted considerable attention from international peers soon after the publishing of its Chinese version.
The book was the first academic writing on Covid-19 prevention and treatment by Chinese medical researchers that was introduced by Elsevier, according to the company.
Coronavirus cases were first reported in China in December last year. So far, over 50 million cases have been reported, including more than 1.23 million deaths.
