Global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 364,849 as of Saturday (May 30) morning, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally.

So far, 5,923,432 cases have been confirmed around the world after Covid-19, the disease caused by the new strain of coronavirus, was first reported in China in December last year.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 3,004,235 infected patients, 2,950,500 are in mild condition, which is 98 percent, Worldometer records in its daily updates. On the other hand, 53,735 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only two.

So far, 2,659,250 people have recovered.

Meanwhile, 23 patients died from Covid-19 in Bangladesh over the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 582.

Besides, 2,523 more people tested positive, which is the highest single-day record of new infections in the country, making 42,844 confirmed cases in total.
