Gonoshasthaya hands over Covid-19 testing kits for govt approval

Gonoshasthaya Kendra has handed over Covid-19 testing kit, GR Covid-19 Dot Blot, to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Saturday.

The handover ceremony of the kits was held at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital, Dhanmondi in the capital.

CDC is the leading national public health institute of the United States of America.

However, Gonoshasthaya Kendra could not handover their coronavirus testing kit to the government as no government officials were present at the programme.

Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, founder and trustee of Gonoshasthaya Kendra said despite the invitation, no government officials attended the ceremony. Only CDC confirmed about their arrival and turned up for the handover.

"We will deliver the kits to all the concerned government offices tomorrow," he said.

Dr Zafrullah said the director general of drug administration had informed him that they won’t be able to attend the ceremony from beforehand.
