In a latest move, the government has reduced the fees for Covid-19 testing. Anyone who wants to conduct a test from hospitals have to pay 100 taka while 300 taka if samples collected from the home of a patient suspected to be infected with the virus.
The new fees will be effective within one to two days, Health Minister Zahid Maleque told the media at the secretariat on Wednesday.
Health ministry’s public relations officer Maidul Islam said a circular will be issued soon, regarding this.
Earlier, one had to pay 500 taka for a coronavirus test by having sample collected from home, and 200 taka per test if sample was given to hospitals or dedicated tests booths.
