Independent TV’s online in-charge and news anchor Golam Kibria tested positive for coronavirus on Friday.
“The report was received in the evening,” Mamun Abdullah, the TV’s Head of news, told reporters.
Kibria last worked at the office on May 2. “He had been feeling sick for the last few days,” Abdullah said.
The head of news said they are identifying people who came in touch with Kibria.
The journalist is currently in isolation at his home.
A number of journalists working in the field have tested positive for coronavirus in Bangladesh.
