Dr Meerjadey Sabrina Flora, director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), has been appointed as the new additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services.
A gazette notification was issued on Thursday by the health services department of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in this regard.
Dr Sabrina Flora will replace the current Add'l DG (planning and development) Dr Sania Tahmina, who is scheduled to retire on August 18.
The order will be effective from August 20, 2020, said the notification.
Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora was appointed as the director of IEDCR in 2016. Since then, she carried out research on various security measures to prevent the outbreak of epidemic viruses and diseases in the important places in Bangladesh.
