Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said the Oxford vaccine would be available in Bangladesh at a cost of 425 taka.
Bangladesh will get the vaccine at a lower price than many other countries, he added.
He made the remarks at an exchange meeting with the media in Manikganj on Saturday.
The World Health Organization will soon approve the Oxford vaccine which has fewer side effects.
The minister said orders for the vaccine have been confirmed for about 6 crore people and more orders will be placed in phases. The first shipment of the vaccine will arrive in January.
He said a committee headed by the chief secretary to the prime minister is working on a list of who would be the first to be vaccinated.
