Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam has been appointed chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for the next four years.
He is the dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at Dhaka University (DU).
He is also the Chairman of the General Insurance Corporation. He has been involved in finance, banking and insurance education for more than two decades.
Earlier on Sunday (May 18), the finance ministry issued a circular appointing Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam as the chairman of the BSEC. This notification was signed by Nahid Hossain, Deputy Secretary of Finance Ministry.
Shibli Rubaiyat has been appointed as the Chairman of BSEC for a term of 4, the circular said.
