Health ministers of eight member nations of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) on Thursday held a videoconference and stressed the need for regional cooperation to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic.

A SAARC secretariat press release published on Thursday (April 23) from Nepal states that the heads of delegation from across the member states briefed on their situations of their respective countries and shared their experiences as how they were combating the outbreak of Covid-19.

They also reiterated the importance of regional cooperation and solidarity to address and mitigate the unprecedented threat inflicted by the pandemic in the region.

Dr. Zafar Mirza, Minister of State for Health of Pakistan, chaired the Conference.
