Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that the second wave of coronavirus is already in Bangladesh.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural event of modernization, quality medical services and expansion of education of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on the occasion of birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday.
He said people are going outside ignoring health guidelines and hygiene rules.
However, the minister said health department, including doctors and nurses, is ready to deal with the second wave.
Pointing out the possibility of an increase in Covid-19 infection in winter, the minister said’ “People usually have weddings and picnics in winter. This will increase Covid-19 infection due to overcrowding. Therefore, it is necessary to refrain from organizing these events.”
