Concerted efforts of all conscious youths can be the crucial means of mitigating the sufferings faced during the pandemic, including Covid-19, as contribution of the youth to the society is immense.
The youths should be given proper environment to flourish, both physically and mentally to boost their confidence level so that they can serve the society and nation as a whole.
Leaders of influence and development activists came up with the observation while addressing the opening session of the sixth 'Barendra Youth Conference and Reception 2021' virtually in Rajshahi yesterday amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Barendra Tract Youth Organisations Forum (BRYOF) and Bangladesh Resource Centre for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK) jointly organised the conference joined by more than 100 youths from 46 youth organisations.
'Concerted resistance of Conscious Youths will resist all pandemics' was the main slogan of the conference.
Valiant Freedom Fighter Dr Abdul Mannan, Prof Bidhan Chandra Das and Assistant Professor Abhijit Kumar Roy from Rajshahi University, Superintendent of Police Abu Ahammad Al Mamun and business leader Sekendar Ali addressed the opening ceremony as resource persons.
BARCIK Directors Pavel Partha and Towhidul Alam addressed the meeting as focal persons, while Regional Coordinator Shahidul Islam illustrated the aims and objectives of the conference in his concept paper presentation.
Earlier, youth leaders portrayed and shared their respective organizational activities in helping the disadvantaged people amid the pandemic.
The discussants observed that the responsive role of the youths and the students in particular are very vital for supplementing the government's efforts of taking the country forward successfully.
They mentioned that the present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to take the nation to a new height. So, the young generation should extend their wholehearted support to the government endeavors.
More youth organizations should come forward and work together with better understanding to infuse dynamism in all the nation-building process and activities to make those sustainable in the greater interest of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
