250 non-MPO teachers get humanitarian aid

Some 250 non-MPO teachers and employees of 30 educational institutions were given humanitarian assistance aimed at mitigating their hardship caused by Covid-19 pandemic.

Each of them was given a food package containing 10 kilograms of rice, five kilograms of flour, one kilogram of lentil and one liter of edible oil on Monday afternoon through maintaining health guidelines.

Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton distributed the food items at Rajshahi College Auditorium as chief guest.

Former Chairmen of Rajshahi Education Board Prof Nurul Alam and Prof Tanbirul Alam, Principal of Rajshahi College Prof Abdul Khaleque and Principal of Shaheed Mamun Mahmud Police Lines School and College were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Liton said the worst-affected people are being given humanitarian support from the government to mitigate their sufferings caused by the global pandemic.

The mayor urged the assistance recipients to follow the health rules strictly to control the spread of the deadly virus.
