A dolphin was found dead on the Kuakata sea beach in Patuakhali on Wednesday morning.
“I spotted the seven-feet long dead Dolphin around 9:00 am on Wednesday. After I contacted officials from my organization, they have visited the spot and informed the Forest Department,” said KM Bacchu, member of the Dolphin Conservation Committee.
Patuakhali District Forest Officer Tariqul Islam confirmed the matter and told The Business Post, “We have found 22 dead dolphins on the beach this year, which is alarming.”
Earlier on September 23, another five-feet-long dead dolphin floated to the forest point area of the sea beach.
With them, a total of 23 dead dolphins, with injury marks on their bodies, have been found at different points of Kuakata sea beach this year.
