Member of Parliament and State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid distributed sewing machines and wheelchairs among the poor, distressed and physically challenged people in Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh on Wednesday.
The minister distributed 16 sewing machines and seven wheelchairs among the beneficiaries as chief guest at a function held at Muktagachha Upazila Parishad Shahid Hazrat Ali Auditorium on Wednesday morning.
UNO Abdullah Al Mansur presided over the function. Acting Upazila Chairman Md Arab Ali, Upazila Engineer Oshit Baran Deb and Upazila Agriculture Officer Emdadul Haque, among others, were present.
Later, the state minister distributed Mashkolia seed and fertilizer among 150 poor and marginal farmers in all ten unions of the upazila as agri-incentives.
KM Khalid also distributed 55 tube wells for safe drinking water in the Area. Each of the farmers received 5-kg Mashkolai seed, 10-kg Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and 5-kg Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertilizers.
KM Khalid said the government has been implementing a massive welfare oriented programme for underpriviledged and distressed people.
