Man gets life term in Narail firearms case

A court on Monday in Narail  sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for possessing illegal fire arms five years ago.

Special Tribunal-1 judge of Narail Munshi Md. Moshier Rahman convicted Zakir Talukder alias Liakot Hossain in an arms case and pronounced the verdict in presence of him in the court.

Liakot ,48, a son of Shamsul Haque alias Sham Talukder, hails from Kalabaria village in Kalia upazila of the district.

Public Prosecutor of Narail judge court Md. Emdadul Islam confirmed BSS.

The prosecution story, in brief, is that Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a raid in Kanduri-Srinagar area in Kalia upazila and recovered one Shutter Gun and 5 round of bullets from Liakot on august 12, 2016.

RAB filed a case with Naragati police station in this connection.

Police later submitted charge sheet against Liakot.

After examining the record and witnesses, the judge handed down the verdict  in the crowded courtroom.
