SCC examinee kills himself

An examinee of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations committed suicide in Rangpur three hours before the examinations began Sunday in the metropolis as elsewhere across the country.

Police said the examinee threw him to the ground from the sixth floor of an eight-storey residential building in Keranipara area near Keramotia Jam-E- Mosque at 7 am.

He was immediately rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

The attending doctor at RMCH declared him dead, said Officer-in-Charge (OC- Investigation) of Kotwali police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Inspector Md Hossain Ali.

The deceased was identified as Wasif Raihan, 17, son of Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Abu Taher Md Masud Rana.

Wasif was an SSC examinee from Rangpur Zilla School. He was to take part in the SCC Examinations that began Sunday.
