Digital Bangladesh e-Service Campaign begins in Gaibandha

A month-long digital Bangladesh e-service campaign began in all seven upazilas of the district on Tuesday amid much enthusiasm to the concerned.

The district administration and Information and Communication Technology Division of the government jointly arranged the programme marking the 11 year’s completion of union digital centers (UDC).

The objective of the programe is to inspire the entrepreneurs of the union digital centers (UDC) so that they could provide e-services to the people of grass root level in a public friendly manner.

An inaugural function was also held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy of the town with deputy director of Local Government here Rokhsana Begum attended the function as the chief guest.

Presided over by additional deputy commissioner Md. Sadequr Rahman, the function was also addressed, among others by, Palashbari upazila chairman AKM Moksed Chowdhury, Saghata upazila chairman Md. Zahangir Kabir, Saghata UNO Sarder Mostafa Shahin, panel mayor of Gaibandha municipality Shahid Ahmed and journalist Abedur Rahman Swapon. The speakers said UDC plays a great role for the rural people by providing various e-services at a lower cost.

They also urged the entrepreneurs to be more serious and professional to provide the e-services to the rural people in easy system and without delay.
