Integrated efforts to tackle Covid-19 underscored

Speakers at a function in Gaibandha underscored the need for adopting joint and integrated efforts of all quarters to tackle the Covid-19 situation in the country.

“It is quite impossible to a single organisation or department to tackle the situation of covid-19 which turned into a pandemic form across the world in 2020 and 2021 creating untold Panic, sufferings and irreparable losses to the people.’’

They made the comments while addressing a workshop on the role of NGO in facing covid-19 pandemic at the conference room of district administration on Wednesday. Federation of NGO’s in Bangladesh (FNB) organised the workshop in cooperation with Brac.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin attended the function as the chief guest.

Presided over by ADC-General Md. Sadequr Rahman, the function was also addressed, among others, by Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Masudur Rahman, representative of police super Muhammad Towhidul Islam, Dr. Md.

Hafizur Rahman, representative of Civil Surgeon Dr. AM Akteruzzaman, deputy director of Female Affairs Department Nargis Jahan and deputy director of department of social services Md. Fazlul Haque.

Earlier, a welcome speech was delivered by Murshidur Rahman Khan, general secretary of FNB, district unit and also executive director of Sinnomul Mohila Samity.

The speakers said the joint efforts of all quarters including the NGO are very essential to check the spread of covid-19 and its pandemic situation.

DC Abdul Matin urged the NGOs to keep more contributions to face the Covid-19 in future.

DC also emphasized for abiding by health guidelines, maintaining social distance to keep coronavirus control during the pandemic period.
