‘Spontaneous income tax payment strengthens national economy’

Spontaneous payment of income tax by citizens continues rising to strengthen the national economy consistently and accelerate country’s development.

The observation came today at the inaugural function of the National Income Tax Day- 2021 arranged by the office of the Tax Commissioner of Taxes Zone- Rangpur on its premises in the city.

Tax Commissioner of Taxes Zone-Rangpur Abu Hannan Delwar Hossain inaugurated the day’s function by cutting a cake and releasing balloons as the chief guest.

Additional Commissioner of Taxes for Taxes Zone-Rangpur Md Monjur Alam presided over the function and delivered a welcome speech narrating the importance of the day.

President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu and President of Rangpur Taxes Bar Association Advocate Md. Masum Khan attended the function as special guests.

Deputy Commissioners of Taxes (Headquarters Admin) of Taxes Zone-Rangpur Syed Nurul Huda, Md Raufur Rahman (Headquarters Technical), Kornelues Kama (Circle-3) and Taz Mohammad Tarafdar (Circle-13), Inspectors of Taxes, other officials and employees and journalists were present.

The speakers appreciated various pragmatic steps taken by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to increase the number of taxpayers and enable them to pay income tax easily.

Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu thanked income tax officials for working with a changed mindset to inspire citizens in paying income tax in a hassle-free manner.

“The NBR has made the income tax payment system and tax fixation method easier and more realistic through modernisation. As a result, the revenue collection continues increasing every year,” Titu said.

The chief guest said Bangladesh is advancing on the highway of development and the revenue being collected by NBR is playing the most vital role in building a developed Bangladesh by 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
