A Rangpur youth has found luck in digital freelancing that has helped him overcome unemployment, and is assisting others to do so.

The freelancer Abu Sayem, 24, is now a successful freelancer who has developed expertise in digital marketing.

Hailing from Dolapra village under Alambiditor union in Gongachara upazila under the district, the young entrepreneur has set up a freelancing training centre in the city and has become a source of inspiration for many unemployed youths.

After the sudden demise of his father, Sayem along with his mother, younger brother and three elder sisters had to go through a very difficult time.

For the sake of his family’s survival, he started searching for a job to support his family along with his regular education. Simultaneously, he loved to be a freelancer by enhancing his expertise in software development.

He passed the Higher Secondary Examination in 2015. Though he was facing a real struggle in life, he did not give up and remained stick to his high ambition for moving forward. And finally, he became familiar with the online job and developed his expertise in freelancing and digital marketing as well.

After ten years of struggle, he finally succeeded with his passion. He is now also a seventh-semester student of Rangpur Engineering College.

Meanwhile, he set up two institutes named Inbox IT Institute and Sayem Academy while he became chief executive officer of his two entities.

A large number of unemployed youths have now become self-reliant after receiving online and freelancing training from various institutes while Sayem Academy offers training to those who are interested to join the digital marketing programmes even from outside of Rangpur.

About 2,000 young people have become self-reliant by taking a two-month long training programme from Inbox IT Institute, said sources.

Samiul Islam, a young learner of a Private Technical College of the city, said, “I have completed a two months-long course on freelancing and digital marketing from the institute.”

“Now, I am receiving work orders from different clients to serve their digital marketing service and I am earning at least Tk 15,000 per month with a hope to earn more in the future,” he also said.

Abu Sayem also pointed out that it was a great challenge for him to take the whole burden of his family soon after his father’s death.

“Very often, we used to remain half-fed in our bad days when our family struggled to survive.”

Finally, I made it as now I am earning at least Tk 80,000 every month excluding all my expenditures,” he also noted.

Determination, sincerity and hard work can lead someone to success in life. Digital world has created ample opportunities and advantages for home-based jobs. An unemployed youth can easily combat his or her poverty just simply engaging themselves in freelancing jobs for at least eight hours a day sitting anywhere, he added.

Currently, 10 fulltime young men are working at Inbox IT institute and they are getting at least Tk 20,000 per month from the institute.
