Miscreants kill two in two districts

A Jubo Dal leader has been shot dead in Sirajganj and a man has been killed in a clash between two groups in Kurigram.

According to local sources, miscreants on Wednesday night shot a Jubo DaL leader to death at Belkuchi upazila in Sirajganj district.

Son of Mojibur Rahman, deceased Akber Hossain was 10 no Soydabad union unit Jubo Dal proposed committee convener. He was an accused in number of cases.

A gang of miscreants shot Mojibur at Randhuni Bazar area and fled the scene, said Belkuchi Police Station OC Golam Mostafa.

Local rescued him and taken him to Sirajganj 250-Bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Mojibur dead.

A man was killed in a clash between two groups over a land dispute at Nageshwari upazila in Kurigram district on Tuesday afternoon.

Police on Wednesday sent the dead body of deceased to morgue and detained a person for interrogation over the incident.

The deceased is Jobed Ali, 60, son of late Mohmmad Ali, a resident of Balabari village in Kedar union under the upazila.

According to villagers and lawsuit, deceased Jobed Ali on Tuesday went to collect seedlings from seedbed of the disputed land. At that time, Sofiqul Islam along with his cohorts, also residents of same village, impeded Jobed.

All on a sudden both groups involved in a violent clash at a stage of talk fighting, leaving Jobed Ali dead on the spot. After that the locals came forward and attackers fled away.

After getting information, police went to the spot and made a report on the incident. Son of the deceased Jahagir Alam filed a murder case at Kochakata police station.
