The 50th founding anniversary of Rangpur-Dinajpur Rural Services (RDRS) Bangladesh was celebrated in Rangpur on Tuesday.
Executive Director of RDRS Tapon Kumar Karmokar inaugurated the celebration in the morning at the district office of the organisation. Marking the anniversary, a virtual discussion was held.
Tapon Kumar said RDRS Bangladesh has played laudable role in improving the rural life, socio-economy, education, health, women empowerment, and agriculture and food security.
RDRS Bangladesh is a development organisation committed to change through empowering the rural poor.
It provides development opportunities and services to around 34, 15,594 underprivileged families in 29 districts, and work with 396 community-based organisations known as Federations seeking to empower their grassroots members. RDRS maintains a staffing of over 5,000, over 90% of whom are field-based.
