2 alleged robbers beaten to death

Two alleged robbers were killed in a mass beating by villagers during a robbery at Sadar upazila in Manikganj district on Thursday.

One of the deceased was identified as Mintu. According to police, three robbers, along with sharp weapons, entered Yusuf Ali’s house at Banparil village under Hatipara union around 4 am for robbery. They looted gold ornaments and some cash money keeping the family hostage at gunpoint.

In the meantime, someone informed the matter to villagers announcing from a local mosque. The villagers rushed to the spot and caught the trio and beat them massively, leaving one dead on the spot and two others seriously injured.

On information, police detained the injured robbers and took them to Manikganj Hospital where one of them, named Mintu, succumbed to his injuries, said Manikganj Sadar Police Station OC Abdur Rauf.
