Two killed in Munshiganj road accidents

Two people, including an Ansar member, were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents at the Dakbanglo intersection of Chawkbazar and Mashurgaon Old Ferry Ghat areas of Munshiganj district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Ansar member Md Azad Sheikh, 41, son of Abdur Rahman Sheikh of Mashurgaon village in Srinagar upazila, and Nur Nabi, 14, son of Nurul Haque of Sholghar area of the same upazila.

On Wednesday morning, an unidentified private car hit Azad from behind at Mashurgaon Old Ferry Ghat area of Dhaka-Mawa Expressway, leaving Azad injuried seriously. Later, he died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

On the other hand, a freight truck crushed an auto-rickshaw at the Dakbanglo intersection of Chawkbazar area in Srinagar upazila around 2pm on the same day.

Teenager Nur Nabi died on the spot, and three others were injured.

The deadly truck was seized, sub-inspector (SI) of Srinagar Police Station Md Zakir said.

The injured were taken to the Srinagar upazila Health Complex. Later, they were referred to Dhaka Mitford Hospital in critical condition, said Medical Officer of Srinagar Upazila Health Complex Dr Asaduzzaman.
