Four killed in Barishal road accident

Four people were killed and three others injured when a BRTC bus crashed into a battery-run three-wheeler on the Dhaka-Kuakata highway in Bakerganj upazila of Barishal district on Wednesday.

The deceased are Tanzila Akhter, Sohag Sikder, Amir Chowdhury and autorickshaw driver Hasib.

Alauddin Milon, officer-in-charge of Bakerganj Police Station, said the accident occurred when the Barishal-bound bus hit the three-wheeler at high speed, leaving three of its occupants dead on spot. Later, Tanzila Akhter succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The other three injured passengers were admitted to Sher-e Bangla Medical College Hospital.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to a local hospital morgue for post-mortem. “The injured have been hospitalised,” the OC said.
