Osmani Medical College doctors continue strike

Students and intern doctors of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) have been demonstrating by shutting down the main gate of the hospital. They are staging movement by boycotting classes and exams for the third consecutive day.

Apart from this, the intern physicians are also observing work of abstention.

The students demonstrated by locking all the gates except the emergency department of the hospital around 1pm on Wednesday. Besides, they have put a barricade on the medical road.

Dr Safwan, general secretary of Osmani Medical College Hospital Intern Physician Council, said, “We will continue our strike until all accused are arrested and visible steps are taken to ensure security for the students and intern doctors. Apart from the work abstention, new programmes will be announced.”

Earlier, the intern doctors of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) called a strike in protest against the attack on two students of the medical college.
