Sherpur farmer killed in wild elephant attack

A 65-year-old farmer was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur district on Tuesday, police said on Wednesday. The tragedy occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the Patrachhila Mayaghasi hill area of the upazila.

“Somed Ali of Mayaghasi village of Ramchandrakura union, was attacked by the wild elephant while cutting grass in his field for cattle,” said Bachir Ahmed Badal, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari police station. “He was killed on the spot.”
